What have you learnt from your audience feedback?

Did you think anything could have been improved upon?

D&M Advertisement Q’s (Unable to ask these as D&M were completed too late)

How did you find our D/M appealing?

Do you think it looks like a traditional R&B album D/M?

What do you think we could improve on?

How much would you rate them out of 10? Why?

Our audience feedback has shown us that our film had many high points and was received well by our audience overall, though there were a few things they recommended we improve on to make it more enjoyable to watch.

These comments show a genuine interest and liking of our music video by our target audience who were teenagers. We were praised for our video being similar to that of a "Proper music video" showing that what we had taken onboard in terms of other conventions from videos of the same genre may have been successful. Also feedback commenting on our variations of shots and use of editing shows how much effort people believed we put into our project.

Some comments left suggested that we could have had images of Jordan, the boyfriend in the mirror so that we could strengthen the narrative of their relationship breaking up. Although having already used a memento of him to trigger a flashback we didn't feel it necessary to have him incorporated into the video until the video progressed a little further. In regards to linear narrative structure and the role of Barthes who argued we base our opinions of things on our culture we had actually decided to develop and ultimately change the ending of our music video because of the comment above. While originally we had decided to leave the video fading out on the letter Zara had wrote for Jordan. We decided to change the leaving to an unseen flashback of them hugging suggesting a possible happy ending to our audience so that they wouldn't feel uneasy with the ending while also leaving the enigma code of whether they actually get together or not to connate mystery upon our video, keeping our audience interested.

Having gotten feedback from someone who has also studied Media at A-level and saying our production was better compared to there's in terms of shots, shows how diverse we were in timing and choosing our shots. Especially seeing as we made it our primary aim to make our cutting rate between frames very fast seeing as we had seen that as an overruling convention in every R&B video we analyzed.
