In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

Basis

All Videos/All Conventions

*State that each music video follows a specific set of conventions.
*State R&B conventions.
*Lip syncing and our effectiveness?
*Screen grabs of comparative lip syncing between videos?
*We had tried to use a variety of locations to keep the audience interested as we had seen this to be a convention for most R&B videos coupled with a fast cutting rate. (Mention out 3 sec rate) This kept it fast paced and interesting while the different locations offered a pleasant change.
*Story in general? Romance and the breakdown of relationships- Something that could be easily related to considering our target audience and what they might be experiencing so they might enjoy the content of our video more than others. (How did you represent themes in your video and how are these signified in real music videos)

Conventions not followed?

*Group dance - choreography not suitable for our song as it is quite intimate and only revolves around ONE artist only.
*Changes in costume? Not done in our video as we are set episodically.
*Narrative structure not stereotypical in the sense we we switch back and forth between time and events to give our audience more to play with, in terms of not making it linear.
* Using the conventions my own way- better skills than last year.
* Uses of editing, camera ect ect...?
